A 55-year-old unqualified medical practitioner, who had been married four times and estranged by all his wives, committed suicide in Chhindwara district.
The deceased, identified as Jagdish Sharma, allegedly consumed poison on Friday in the Chaurai locality. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed during treatment, according to Chaurai police station in-charge Ganpat Uike.
A suicide note recovered from Sharma accused the mother and family members of a 25-year-old woman—whom he claimed to have married unofficially at a temple—of driving him to take the extreme step. Police have launched an investigation to verify the authenticity of the suicide note and uncover further details surrounding the incident.
