Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized the crucial role of prosecution officers in the justice system. He stated that courts, police, and prosecution work together to deliver justice to victims. Effective coordination between the judiciary, government, administration, and prosecution is essential to ensure justice and improve law and order in the state. He urged prosecution officers to be well-versed in legal procedures, prosecution work, and judicial intricacies to efficiently fulfil their responsibilities. CM Dr. Yadav was addressing the inaugural session of the 45-day foundational training program for more than 210 newly appointed Assistant District Public Prosecution Officers at the Central Police Training Academy in Kanhasiya. On this occasion, he, along with Supreme Court Justice J.K. Maheshwari, Chief Justice of MP High Court Suresh Kumar Kait, and MP High Court Judge Vivek Agarwal, lit the ceremonial lamp to commence the training program.
Yadav praised the judiciary's significant contribution to establishing good governance in the country in his address. He highlighted that public prosecution officers have a golden opportunity to ensure swift justice for victims and the needy by utilizing their youthful energy, intellectual expertise, and dedication. He emphasized that strict adherence to judicial orders is the essence of good governance. He acknowledged that the judiciary has played a pivotal role in strengthening democratic traditions in the country.
Dr. Yadav noted that India's judiciary has witnessed several instances where the central government has set remarkable examples of good governance, by promptly implementing court orders. He underscored the mutual responsibility of upholding justice citing the philosophy of "Dharma protects those who protect it,". He referred to Ujjain’s King Vikramaditya, who set governance benchmarks centuries ago, and stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the nation has witnessed the revival of these values. He asserted that the government will take all necessary measures to ensure the effective implementation of new criminal laws and provide the necessary resources to enhance the justice system.
The Chief Guest, Supreme Court Justice JK Maheshwari, stated that justice is a fundamental human right. He urged that the desire for justice should reside deep within our hearts. Referring to Emperor Vikramaditya’s judicial system, he mentioned that it instilled faith in justice among the people. He emphasized that a government's greatness is reflected in the efficiency of its judicial system.
Justice Maheshwari encouraged the newly appointed public prosecutors to enhance their skills and contribute to improving the justice system. He described justice as a philosophy and a commitment, urging new prosecutors to embrace this responsibility. He also requested CM Dr. Yadav to ensure the establishment of e-courts, e-libraries, and proper seating arrangements for advocates and prosecutors in courts.
Special Guest and Chief Justice of the MP High Court, Suresh Kumar Kait, highlighted that public prosecutors are the first and foremost link in the justice system. The strength of a legal case depends on the evidence they present. He emphasized that the prosecution must bring strong evidence to secure justice for victims. He urged prosecutors to increase conviction rates to ensure criminals are punished.
Justice Kait stressed that prosecution officers should assist judges to ensure smooth legal proceedings and to uncover the truth. He emphasized that coordination among all stakeholders is essential for delivering justice and building a strong society. He also requested CM Dr. Yadav to enhance facilities for prosecutors.
Special Guest and MP High Court Judge, Justice Vivek Agarwal, described public prosecutors as the flag bearers of justice and social transformation.
