A review meeting of the District e-Governance Society was held at the Collectorate Auditorium under the direction of Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman Ananya Mittal. The meeting focused on digitally empowering government services and panchayat buildings to enhance public access to essential facilities. A comprehensive review of Common Service Centers (CSC), JharSeva, various certificates, UID, BharatNet, e-Hospital, and JharNet was conducted to assess their functionality and scope for improvement.
During the meeting, emphasis was laid on providing better digital services at the grassroots level. Discussions revolved around maximizing the use of digital infrastructure to simplify public services. It was decided to empower panchayat buildings digitally, ensuring that citizens could easily access government services through online platforms.
Pragya Kendra operators working in all panchayats were instructed to obtain BC ID within a week. They were urged to enhance their services and extend maximum support to the public. Instructions were also given to streamline the issuance of income, caste, and other certificates through the JharSeva portal. Additionally, necessary guidelines were provided to rectify errors at Aadhaar centers operated through CSCs across the district.
A special review was conducted on internet connectivity through JharNet in Sakchi Mandal Jail, where it was decided to expedite the provision of video conferencing facilities. The BSNL representative was directed to strengthen BharatNet connectivity in panchayat buildings and encourage its maximum utilization. Furthermore, the JharNet engineer was asked to improve internet speed in various government offices for enhanced operational efficiency.
The meeting saw active participation from key officials, including District Panchayati Raj Officer Rinku Kumari, District Informatics Officer Kishore Prasad, Executive Magistrate Sudipt Raj, E-District Manager Manish Kumar Prasad, Additional District Informatics Officer Poonam Verma, and representatives from CSC, Digital Panchayat Project, Panchayati Raj Department, JharNet Cell, and BSNL.
The initiative is part of a larger agenda to digitally empower rural governance, ensuring that public services are easily accessible to citizens. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for enhanced coordination among departments to achieve digital empowerment goals effectively.
“ With these strategic measures, the district administration aims to establish a robust digital governance framework, making public services more transparent, efficient, and citizen-friendly. The review meeting concluded with a commitment to accelerating digital transformation in panchayats and government offices, paving the way for a digitally empowered society,” said an official.
