Punjab National Bank (PNB) is celebrating its 131st anniversary.
Keeping in mind the spirit of Swadeshi in India, Punjab National Bank was established on May 19, 1894 by freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai along with some other freedom fighters in Lahore of undivided India with the objective of creating a Swadeshi bank for Indians. Its first branch started operating on April 12, 1895 and the founder of this bank, Lala Lajpat Rai, became its first customer.
The history of PNB is linked to India's freedom struggle and economic development. In its journey of more than a century, PNB has expanded its presence not only in India but also abroad.
Foundation Day is being celebrated with great pomp in all the branches and offices of Ranchi division. On this occasion, a health check-up cum blood donation camp was organized on Wednesday in the Divisional Office Ranchi under the chairmanship of Divisional Head Awadhesh Kumar Jha, in which a large number of bank officials, employees and customers got their health checked and donated blood.
Customer meetings were organized in the branches for better customer service. Along with this, blood donation certificates were given to the employees and customers who donated blood.
On this occasion, Divisional Office Ranchi honored its retired senior officers, senior citizens and customers. On this occasion, Sub Divisional Head Nitin Kumar Banka and other senior officers were present.
