Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized that when patients receive proper hospital treatment, doctors become equivalent to gods for them. He acknowledged that suffering in the human body is a significant challenge and expressed gratitude for organising a mega health camp in Chambal, where renowned doctors from across the country participated.
Yadav referred to Chambal as the land of warriors, stating that the brave soldiers of this region are always ready to sacrifice their lives for the country’s protection. He made these remarks while inaugurating the Rotary Relief Mega Health Camp at the SAF Ground in Morena.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the state government has launched the PM Air Ambulance Service to provide free emergency medical assistance to those in need, even under challenging circumstances. He personally visited the OPD counters at the health camp, interacted with doctors and Rotary Club members, and ensured that high-quality treatment arrangements were in place.
More than 5,000 patients underwent comprehensive screening at the health camp. After screening, patients were classified into different categories for proper treatment. Dr. Yadav noted that earlier, hospital management was divided into the Public Health and Medical Education departments, but his government integrated both into one unified system, simplifying hospital administration and ensuring better healthcare services. The goal is to establish more medical colleges and hospitals across the state for improved healthcare access.
Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar pointed out that health services in Chambal were previously inadequate. However, the region, which had only 100 hospital beds earlier, now boasts a 600-bed hospital. He mentioned that efforts are continuously being made to improve healthcare facilities. Due to financial constraints, many people struggle to afford advanced treatment outside the region. Hence, health camps have been organized since 2017 with support from the district administration.
Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha stated that the health camp has been organized in memory of Smt Mohanpyari Devi Ji of the Maheshwari family. Under this initiative, over 40,000 surgeries and millions of OPD consultations have been conducted so far. The mission aims to extend free treatment for serious illnesses like cervical and breast cancer among women.
Several renowned doctors will provide their services at the camp, including Dr. Naresh Trehan (Cardiologist & Cardiac Surgeon, Medanta Hospital) and his team, Dr. O.P. Yadav (National Heart Institute) and specialists from AIIMS Delhi, Max Hospital, and Manipal Hospital, Dr. Dinesh Bhoorani (Hematologist), Dr. Vivek Shankar & Dr. Nitish Nayak (Orthopedic Surgeons, AIIMS Delhi), Dr. Neeraj Jain (Pain Specialist, Max Delhi), Dr. Meenu Bajpai (Pediatric Surgeon, Rainbow Hospital, Delhi), Dr. Kamta Shah (Mumbai Nanavati Hospital) – Pediatric surgeries, including hernia and hypospadias, Dr. Rawat (Kidney Specialist, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital), Dr. S.B.
