Punjab Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal on Sunday flagged off buses on two new routes from the Lehragaga Bus Stand.
He said that traders and local people traveling from Lehragaga to Hoshiarpur often faced difficulties during their journey due to the lack of direct bus service. He informed that from now onwards, a bus will depart daily from Lehragaga Bus Stand at 6:45 AM, traveling via Sunam, Sangrur and Ludhiana and reach Hoshiarpur by afternoon. The return journey will begin from Hoshiarpur at 2:37 PM. The passengers traveling on this 422-kilometer route will experience significant relief with this new service, he added.
The Minister further informed that the second bus service will cater to passengers traveling from Moonak to Khanauri, adding that students in particular faced considerable hardships due to the absence of government bus services on this route and now this problem has been permanently resolved.
Goyal expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar and PRTC Chairman Ranjodh Singh Hadana for their timely support. He said that while previous governments neglected the demands of villages including bus services and other public needs, the Punjab government led by the Aam Aadmi Party has initiated a wave of development projects in all these villages and there is no shortage of development work in any village or city across Punjab.
