Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, commenced its two-day Annual Fest, 'Panache 2025', on Thursday, February 6, on its premises. This event, themed "Ecoflair," celebrates environmentally conscious designs that combine ecological sustainability with a stylish flair. This inter-college festival saw participation from XISS, St Xavier’s College, Ranchi, and Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra.

Minister, Higher and Technical Education Department, Sudivya Kumar, inaugurated the fest and addressed the audience, “XISS is doing a wonderful work in the field of education focussing on business and development. XISS holds a significant position in Jharkhand when it comes to imparting higher education. The quality of education that XISS provides is building future leaders who make huge difference in the industries. XISS is a beacon of management education excellence in Jharkhand.”

Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur, Director, XISS, described the annual fest as a display of student strength and leadership. He explained "panache" as elegance and sophistication, linking it to the French phrase "Je Ne Sais Quoi," symbolizing the charm of the event. Reflecting on life’s journey, he urged students to embrace both triumphs and challenges. He also shared XISS Vision 2030, marking 75 years of the institute, with a focus on academic rigor, corporate engagement, leadership-driven initiatives, alumni relations, and international exposure, while emphasizing ability, motivation, and attitude as pillars for the future.

Fr Ajit Xess, Chairman, XISS Governing Body, address at XISS was a powerful reminder that true excellence lies in continuous growth without complacency. He urged students to measure progress against their past selves rather than others. Using the analogy of the sun and moon, he encouraged patience and perseverance, assuring that everyone has their moment to shine. Concluding, he quoted Gautam Buddha: "Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.”

The two-day extravaganza kicked off with the Runathon, a marathon, followed by exciting events such as the Treasure Hunt, Dialectica, Face Painting, Cooking without Fire, Spotlight Stage, Xigyasa 3.0 – The Business Quiz, On Your Toes, and Fashion Show.

On day one of the event showcased captivating performances by students, with a wide range of fun-filled activities. Students eagerly took part in the events, enjoying themselves while also gaining valuable learning experiences.
