Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated that the 'One District-One Product' (ODOP) initiative is a significant step towards making our artisans and farmers self-reliant. The 'One District-One Product' (ODOP) Expo, organized at the Global Investors Summit (GIS) in Bhopal, provided a global platform for local artisans and farmers. The expo showcased distinctive ODOP products from 38 districts, presenting a unique blend of tradition and innovation.

During GIS-Bhopal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described ODOP as a powerful initiative toward an Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). He emphasized that each district's unique product can become its cultural and economic identity. The ODOP program has paved the way for turning local products into global brands.

Yadav mentioned that the ODOP-Expo at GIS-Bhopal has offered our local products, especially handicrafts and agricultural products, an opportunity to gain global recognition.

Special stalls were set up at the ODOP expo, divided into live counters and process counters. At the live counters, artisans demonstrated the production process of eight major products, including Bagh print, Zari Zardozi, Batik print, carpets, Chanderi sarees, bamboo, sandstone, and fabric jackets.

During GIS-Bhopal, foreign investors and industrialists closely observed the craftsmanship of local artisans and understood their working styles. The live counters at 'Kumhar Pura' and 'Technical Zone' in the expo also became major attractions.

The ODOP-Expo showcased 38 district-specific products related to food, spices, and fruits, along with their manufacturing processes. Opportunities for purchasing and exporting these products were also provided. Additionally, investors collected samples of unique products, increasing the possibility of establishing future business relations.

Under the ODOP initiative, Madhya Pradesh promotes traditional, textile, and agricultural products from various districts. These include Burhanpur’s bananas, potato-based products and stone tiles from Gwalior, chili products from Khargone, garlic products from Mandsaur, coriander products from Neemuch, tomato-based products from Satna, Morena’s gajak and mustard products, potato-based products from Indore, guava products from Bhopal, Chanderi sarees, Maheshwari sarees and handloom products, clay crafts and handicrafts from Tikamgarh, and Bagh prints from Dhar.

Several products from Madhya Pradesh have received the GI (Geographical Indication) tag, including Bagh print, Chinor rice from Balaghat, bell metal craft from Datia and Tikamgarh, Chanderi sarees, Gond paintings, handmade carpets from Gwalior, stone crafts from Jabalpur, Kadaknath chicken from Jhabua, leather toys from Indore, Maheshwari sarees, Morena’s gajak, Ratlami sev, Sundarja mango from Rewa, Batik print from Ujjain, Sharbati wheat from Sehore, handloom sarees from Waraseoni, and metalwork from Dindori.

The expo facilitated interactions between investors and local entrepreneurs, laying the foundation for expanding the market reach of Madhya Pradesh’s artisans and products. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated, "The interactions with foreign investors have set the stage for providing a global commercial platform to the state's products."

The ODOP-Expo at GIS-Bhopal has proven that Madhya Pradesh’s traditional products have the potential to compete in the global market. This event will be a milestone in taking local products to new heights.
