State Vice President NSUI Aman Ahmed said that a day ago, a dead rat was found in the dinner of the students, this is not a new thing here, it has happened before as well.

Due to poor quality of food and expired masala, the health of more than 20 students deteriorated, many of whom vomited. Two students in critical condition are undergoing treatment at RIMS, while the rest are in normal condition.

After the incident, the students tried to contact the warden and senior officials of the university, but their phones were switched off.

Angry students staged a sit-in near the admin building, students of Mass Communication and Science departments say that 3 months' money for food has to be paid in advance and despite paying Rs 2600 every month, bad food is being served. 50 hours have passed, till now the university administration has not formed an inquiry committee.

The university administration says that an inquiry committee will be formed after the medical report comes, and a cover-up is being done.

The NSUI demands that the mess selection should be re-tendered through the tender process, the security supervisor should be expelled and after investigation the culprits and the mess in-charge and staff should be removed immediately, the lives of the students should not be played with, otherwise NSUI will agitate and will bring the matter to the notice of His Excellency the President and will demand the removal of the Vice Chancellor / Registrar for doing irresponsible work / negligence towards the students.
