Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s scheduled visit to the state capital on Sunday will cause extensive traffic diversions across key city routes from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Authorities have announced restricted vehicle movement from Old Airport to Ravindra Bhavan and surrounding areas. Major roads including Roshanpura, VIP Road, Lalghati and Polytechnic Square will see diversions, urging citizens to take alternate routes.
Passenger buses from Indore and Ujjain will be halted at Halalpur Bus Stand. Rajgarh-Biaora buses will be diverted via Mubarakpur Bypass, Khajuri Bypass, and Bairagarh Road.
Heavy and commercial vehicles will be banned from routes including Roshanpura to Polytechnic, Kamla Park, and VIP Road during the event. Goods carriers are advised to follow Khajuri Bypass and Mubarakpur Square.
Two-wheelers and private cars may face spot restrictions on roads like Gandhinagar Junction and Kamla Park. Drivers are urged to use routes via Bharat Mata Square, Neelbad and Rati Bad.
Additionally, a strict no-fly zone has been declared within 5 km of Ravindra Bhavan from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Drones, paragliders and balloons are prohibited.
With Shah’s Z+ and CRPF security cover, Bhopal Police have marked the venue a Red Zone. Commercial flight operations remain unaffected. Police have urged the public to plan their travel in advance and cooperate with security measures.
