The late 19th century Sadar Manzil welcomed its first guests on Sunday, a day after the carefully restored heritage hotel was formally inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to coincide with the Global Investors Summit.
The painstakingly restored heritage building, boasts of 22 rooms that are fully booked through the summit dates.
The opening of the hotel has brought fresh excitement in the area which formed a part of a royal enclave during Bhopal's princely past. Large weekend crowds thronged the Iqbal Maidan where a defunct fountain has been restored to welcome guests to the neighbourhood.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the tent city at Kaliasot Ground late on Saturday. He was accompanied by BJP State President VD Sharma and other officials in attendance.
He praised the restoration, describing it as a symbol of Bhopal’s heritage.
Top industry leaders will be the first guests at the hotel, which will open to the public after GIS. The hotel offers vintage-style suites, royal welcomes, and premium facilities, including airport transfers, high tea, live performances, and spa treatments.
Sadar Manzil emphasises vegetarian cuisine, featuring the Diwan-e-Khas dining hall and Charbagh Courtyard. Guests can also enjoy fine wines at the Maikhana Bar.
During the inauguration, CM Yadav launched MP Tourism’s ‘Swagatam Bada’ campaign, highlighting key heritage sites like Sanchi and Mahakaleshwar. The campaign, led by the MP Tourism Board, will be promoted across multiple media platforms to boost tourism in the state.
