Munda discusses industrial and agricultural challenges in Jamshedpur

Friday, 28 February 2025 | PNS | Jamshedpur

Arjun Munda, former Union Minister and former Chief Minister visited Jamshedpur for an insightful discussion with  AK Srivastava, president of the Jamshedpur Citizens Forum. During the meeting, he was apprised of the various challenges faced by industrialists in the Adityapur Industrial Area, sparking a detailed conversation about potential solutions and growth opportunities.

A key issue highlighted was the difficulties encountered by industrialists in maintaining and expanding their businesses in Adityapur, one of Jharkhand’s prominent industrial hubs.  Srivastava emphasized the need for better infrastructure, streamlined regulations, and enhanced support for small and medium enterprises.  Munda assured him that he would take up these concerns with relevant authorities to drive positive changes.

The discussion also touched upon the agricultural sector, where the senior BJP leader expressed concern over the extensive use of chemical pesticides. He stressed the importance of transitioning to organic farming to ensure sustainable agriculture and safeguard public health. “The shift towards organic practices is not just an environmental need but also a demand for healthier living,” he stated, advocating for increased awareness and government support for organic farming initiatives.

Sanjeev Raman, a prominent member of the forum, brought attention to the potential for expanding Jharkhand’s industrial base by attracting investment in the Defense sector. He suggested that a Defense Expo in Jharkhand would be an effective way to create awareness and showcase the state’s manufacturing capabilities.  Arjun Munda responded positively, saying, “The Defense sector presents significant growth opportunities. I will personally discuss the matter with the Defence Minister to explore possibilities.” His proactive stance on the issue was appreciated by the attendees.

During the meeting, Cdr Sanjeev Raman presented a copy of his book, “The Morality of Profits,” to  Arjun Munda. The gesture symbolized a shared vision of ethical business practices and sustainable economic growth.

“The Jamshedpur Citizens Forum expressed gratitude to  Arjun Munda for his visit and proactive approach towards resolving local issues. The discussions are expected to pave the way for strategic initiatives aimed at industrial growth, sustainable agriculture, and enhanced investment in the Defense sector,” said an official.
