Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan governments share a unified vision regarding Lord Shri Krishna’s Patheya. In collaboration with the Rajasthan government, efforts will be made to develop Shri Krishna’s Patheya. In contrast, support from the Gujarat government will be sought to develop Lord Shri Krishna’s Gujarat Gaman Path. The Chief Minister emphasized that while Lord Shri Krishna’s divine form is praiseworthy, the government will also highlight his other significant aspects for society. These include his education in Ujjain, his deep friendship with Sudama, his love for the Vanvasis, and his exemplary role in the Guru-Shishya tradition. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav made these remarks while chairing a meeting of the Subject Expert Committee on Shri Krishna's Patheya at the Chief Minister’s residence (Samatva Bhavan) on Thursday.
Yadav emphasized that all committees should be actively engaged in the development of Shri Krishna Patheya. He directed that archaeologists, religious leaders, and renowned writers of Lord Krishna literature should also be included in the committee to enrich its efforts. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav further stated that, in addition to the meeting held in Bhopal, committee meetings should also take place in Ujjain as well as in key locations in Rajasthan, such as Jaipur, Bharatpur, Braj, Chaurasi Kos, or any other significant site. This initiative will help create a positive environment for Shri Krishna Patheya in both states.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted that ancient history mentions Lord Shri Krishna’s travels across various regions of India (Jambudweep). He instructed the committee to identify and document all such places associated with Lord Krishna’s visits. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav proposed that Ujjain’s Sandipani Ashram be developed as the central hub for the growth and promotion of Shri Krishna Patheya. During the meeting, committee members noted that while Lord Krishna traveled extensively across regions such as Mathura, Ujjain, Dwarka, Braj Mandal, Mewat, Hadaut, Malwa, Nimar, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, and Maharashtra for the welfare of the people, Ujjain remained the primary center of his travels.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the government’s participation in religious festivals has significantly increased across the state. Events such as Shastra Puja on Dussehra, Govardhan Puja on Diwali, and the recent celebration of Geeta Jayanti have been organized with great enthusiasm. Additionally, the decision toimplement a liquor ban in 17 holy and religious citieshas sent a positive message to society. During the meeting, committee members provided valuable suggestions. Dr. Yadav emphasized that the government will work with a dedicated focus on the development of Shri Krishna Patheya. He further stated that in the future, other Leelas of Lord Shri Krishna will also be integrated into this initiative.
In the meeting, senior members of the committee, Minister of State in Rajasthan Government, Omkar Singh Lakhawat, former Director of Maharaja Vikramaditya Shodhpeeth, Padmashree Bhagwatilal Rajpurohit, Culture Advisor to the Chief Minister, Shriram Tiwari, Shailendra Sharma of Ujjain, Raman Solanki and all other members, Additional Chief Secretary in Chief Minister's Office, Rajesh Rajoura, Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education Anupam Rajan, Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Shukla, Principal Secretary Culture and Tourism Sheoshekhar Shukla and other officers were present. Commissioner and Collector Ujjain also participated in the meeting virtually.
