In a significant move to address pressing railway concerns in the region, MP Jamshedpur, Bidyut Baran Mahato, joined senior railway officials for a comprehensive inspection of the Kharagpur–Rakhamines section today. Anil Kumar Mishra, GM/SER, and K.R. Chaudhary, DRM Kharagpur, led the inspection, which included vital stops at Chakulia, Dhalbhumgarh, and Ghatsila stations.
During the inspection at Chakulia station, the MP conducted a detailed review of the station premises, nearby colonies, and the Road Under Bridge (RUB). He also discussed critical railway issues with officials and provided actionable suggestions for improvement.
A key highlight of the visit was the inspection of the proposed site for Badkola Halt between Kokpara and Dhalbhumgarh. The feasibility of opening this passenger halt was discussed to address the growing connectivity needs of the region.
At Dhalbhumgarh station, the MP interacted with rail users, who voiced their demands for infrastructure upgrades, including the extension of the existing foot overbridge (FOB) and the construction of both a Road Over Bridge (ROB) and an additional RUB.
The inspection team also reviewed the progress of the ambitious "Amrit Station" development project at Ghatsila station. Mahato provided valuable suggestions to improve passenger amenities, ensuring better infrastructure and enhanced facilities.
