Senior Delhi Congress leader and former MLA from Sultanpur Majra, Jai Kishan paid tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar on his 135th birth anniversary. Paying tributes to Ambedkar, the Mayor called him a symbol of social justice, equality and human rights.
“He was not just the architect of the Constitution, but a voice for the oppressed and a visionary who shaped India’s democratic framework,” Jai Kishan said, invoking Ambedkar’s slogan “Educate, Agitate, Organise”.
Addressing a gathering at a Dalit colony near Nangloi railway station, Jai Kishan praised Dr Ambedkar’s enduring legacy in championing the rights of marginalised communities.
He emphasised that the rights to equality and freedom enjoyed by every Indian today are a direct result of the Constitution framed under Dr Ambedkar’s leadership. “It is because of Baba Saheb and leaders like Mahatma Gandhi that India has progressed as a democratic nation where every citizen is equal before the law,” he said.
We all are following Dr Ambedkar’s principles and is committed to the welfare and empowerment of all communities.
The event concluded with powerful slogans like “Jai Bhim” and “Baba Saheb Amar Rahe,” as attendees paid homage to Dr Ambedkar’s vision and sacrifice.
