As summer temperatures rise, electricity bills often follow suit due to increased use of cooling appliances. The Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company (MKVVCL) on Sunday provided practical tips to help consumers regulate their energy consumption efficiently without compromising comfort.
For air conditioner users, experts suggest setting the temperature at 27°C to reduce compressor workload and electricity usage. Lower settings force the AC to work harder, leading to higher consumption. Running a ceiling fan alongside the AC improves cooling efficiency and reduces energy use. AC filters should be cleaned every 10-15 days to maintain performance. Dusty filters make the AC run longer, increasing electricity costs. Sealing gaps in windows and doors with thermocol prevents cool air from escaping.
Cooler users should ensure proper ventilation to allow hot air to exit. Blocked airflow reduces efficiency, making the cooler work harder.
