The MERI Group of Institutions, Janakpuri, organized a press conference at the Press Club today. Senior representatives from the institution provided an overview of the MERI Center for International Studies (CIS), the MERI Start-Up Hub, and the academic programs offered across its colleges.
Opening the event, Prof. Lalit Aggarwal, Vice President of the MERI Group, emphasized the institution’s legacy of over three decades in education. "MERI Group of Institutions has been a significant player in providing quality education, offering UGC-recognized courses affiliated with IP University, Delhi, and MDU, Rohtak,” he said.
Discussing the MERI Center for International Studies (CIS), Prof. Aggarwal explained its mission to establish cultural and intellectual connections with nations worldwide. “CIS fosters mutual exchange of modern education and cultural heritage, enabling students to understand and engage with global perspectives,” Prof added.
Prof. Aggarwal highlighted the MERI Start-Up Hub’s focus on equipping students with entrepreneurial skills, saying our aim is to empower students to become self-reliant and create employment opportunities for others. By integrating research and innovation, the hub nurtures new ideas, enabling students to operate on a global platform, he added.
Prof. (Dr.) Ramakant Dwivedi, Head of CIS, elaborated on its unique positioning, stating such Centres have traditionally been part of government institutions, but MERI Group has pioneered this initiative to encourage discussions on global geopolitical issues and enhance students’ awareness of international affairs.
