A meeting was held at the Collectorate Auditorium on Friday to talk about National Road Safety Month 2025. Palamau MP Vishnu Dayal Ram led the meeting.
The MP asked for details on the work for National Road Safety Month 2025. He told officials to start an awareness campaign to make it successful. He also instructed them to take strict action against speeders and those riding motorcycles without helmets.
He stressed that National Road Safety Month 2025 is not only about lowering accident numbers. It is also about encouraging people to take responsibility for their lives.
District Transport Officer Dheeraj Prakash explained that the awareness programme aims to teach and motivate everyone, in both rural and urban areas. The goal is to promote helmet and seatbelt use, follow traffic rules, and avoid driving under the influence of alcohol. He also said it is crucial to help injured people in accidents without fear. The government offers ₹2000 and a certificate for those who assist injured individuals under the Good Samaritan Policy.
Street plays will take place in various areas of Garhwa. Leaflets, pamphlets, and booklets will also be distributed. These activities aim to raise road safety awareness.
Among those present at the meeting were Bhavnathpur MLA Anant Pratap Dev, Deputy Commissioner Garhwa Shekhar Jamuar, Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Pandey, and District Transport Officer Dheeraj Prakash.
