he city marked Martyrs’ Day on Thursday with a two-minute silence at schools, colleges, and private and government offices and institutions as a tribute to those who laid down their lives in service of the nation.
A two-minute silence was observed at both the Collectorate and Divisional Commissioner’s offices, honoring the sacrifices made by those who fought for India’s independence.
At the Collectorate Office, Additional District Magistrate Prakash Nayak, Deputy Collector Ajay Sharma, and other staff members participated in the tribute. Likewise, Joint Commissioner Vinod Yadav and staff at the Divisional Commissioner’s office paid their respects.
The silence was also observed in schools, colleges, and offices across the city, as residents of Bhopal joined in remembering the brave individuals who gave their lives for the country’s freedom.
Martyrs’ Day, observed every year on January 30, marks the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi in 1948 and serves as a solemn reminder of the immense sacrifices made by freedom fighters in the struggle for independence.
