Vehicles entering Jamshedpur city will operate from a single lane from Blue Bells School to Darbhanga Dairy on Mango Dimna Road. To maintain smooth traffic movement, the Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal has directed the deployment of an adequate number of traffic police personnel, installation of necessary signage, road repairs, removal of unauthorized parking and encroachments, and relocation of roadside vegetable vendors. Additionally, the entry of heavy vehicles on this route has been completely restricted, with alternative routes designated for their movement. Passenger buses traveling through the area were instructed to stop only at designated bus stands on the highway to avoid congestion.
A review meeting on the construction of the Mango flyover and traffic management was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Ananya Mittal. Several key decisions were made to ensure the smooth progress of construction and uninterrupted traffic flow between Mango and Dimna.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the contractor to expedite the flyover construction and ensure its completion within the stipulated time frame. He emphasized that necessary measures must be taken to prevent inconvenience to the public and ensure smooth pedestrian movement.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Kaushal Kishore, City Superintendent of Police Kumar Shivashish, Sub-Divisional Officer Dhalbhum Mrs. Shatabdi Majumdar, District Transport Officer, Deputy City Commissioner Mango, and other concerned officials.
The construction of 26 pillars for the flyover in Mango, has been completed. With a total of 57 pillars to be built, the construction work for the flyover is moving at a fast pace. However, due to the continuing construction work, traffic bottlenecks are being caused thereby creating heavy commuting problems for the people.
A total of Rs. 252 crore will be spent on the construction of the bridge and flyover in which the construction company has to do the entire work.
The girder used in the construction of bridge and flyover will be manufactured at a different location. The length of the girder will be 120 feet while the height will be six feet. The girder will be brought on a trailer and will be installed on the bridge with the help of a special type of crane.
The Mango flyover and bridge will be 3.4 kilometres long. It will have four-lane and two-lane sections. The flyover being constructed near Dimna Road Blue Bells School will be of four lane width that will facilitate travelling to and from Dimna Road to Sakchi. Meanwhile, the flyover to be constructed from Mango, New Purulia Road near Payal Cinema to Maharana Pratap roundabout on Marine Drive will be two lanes. The New Purulia road flyover will only be for people coming from Sakchi and will culminate near Payal Cinema. People coming from New Purulia road will be able to come towards Sakchi from the existing road.
The construction of the flyover would be of great relief for the people of Mango who, otherwise, have to contend with daily traffic jams. With the completion of the flyover, commuting would become more simplified.
