A woman has been allegedly murdered by her husband following a dispute over money. The deceased's family claim that she was killed for refusing to hand over funds received from the Maiyaan Samman Yojana scheme.
The discovery of the woman's body in bushes caused a stir in the Ranka police station area, specifically in Manpur Panchayat. The body was found in a bamboo grove. Police arrived at the scene upon receiving information and sent the body for post-mortem examination. According to police reports, the deceased has been identified as Sakina Bibi, wife of Islamuddin Ansari.
Chief Hasiim Ansari stated that the woman withdraw money from the bank on 10 March, which she received from the Maiyaan Samman Yojana, and kept it at home. The deceased's family allege that her in-laws were demanding the money from her. When she refused, a quarrel ensued with her husband.
Following the argument, the woman left home without informing anyone. Her family began searching for her, but she could not be found that night. The next morning, her body was discovered near the bamboo bushes.
The deceased's mother and father have labelled the incident as murder. They allege that ₹7,500 from the Maiyaan Samman Yojana was deposited into their daughter's account, which she then withdrew. Her in-laws demanded the money, but she refused, stating that she would use it to buy clothes and essential items for her children.
Ranka SDOP Rohit Ranjan Singh stated that a woman's body was recovered near Lidi Kanda. Initial inquiries revealed that the deceased had brought money home, which led to a dispute as she did not want to hand it over, while her in-laws were demanding it.
However, police have not yet confirmed whether the money was from the Maiyaan Samman Nidhi. News of the woman's death spread throughout the rural area. Villagers informed Manpur Panchayat Chief Hashim Ansari and the Ranka police station. The police have taken the body into custody and are investigating the matter.
