With pleasing weather conditions in the morning on Monday the late afternoon turned cloudy with hot and humid weather conditions in the state capital.
From April 1 temperatures are likely to soar in the present active system across the state.
In the first three days of April, a strong weather system, consisting of hailstorms and intense storms, is expected to become active in Madhya Pradesh, affecting more than 40 districts across the state.
The weather conditions are likely to create significant disruptions, with heavy rainfall, strong winds, and the possibility of hail in various regions. This system, which is anticipated to intensify, will cause considerable changes in the weather patterns, making it essential for residents and authorities to stay vigilant.
In advance of this intense weather event, some parts of the state will experience light rain and cloud cover.
On Monday, areas such as Ratlam, Mandsaur, Alirajpur, and Barwani witnessed drizzle at a few places accompanied by cloudy skies.
Senior meteorologists have highlighted that within the next 24 hours, a cyclonic circulation system is expected to become active over Central Maharashtra and the Konkan region.
This system, combined with a trough over the plateau region, will result in increased moisture inflow from both the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. As a result, the weather in Madhya Pradesh will undergo a significant shift, bringing more moisture and cooler conditions, contributing to the anticipated stormy weather in the coming days.
During the last 24 hours, the weather remained dry across all divisions of the state. There were no significant changes recorded in the day temperatures, which stayed normal throughout all divisions of the state. However, the night temperatures saw noticeable variations.
In districts of Bhopal, Ujjain, and Shahdol divisions, the night temperatures rose appreciably by 2.1°C to 3.6°C compared to the previous day, while there were no significant changes in the remaining divisions. In Gwalior division, the night temperatures were considerably below normal by 3.8°C.
Meanwhile, in Bhopal, Rewa, Shahdol, and Sagar divisions, the night temperatures fell below normal by 1.7°C to 2.8°C. In contrast, the night temperatures in districts of Indore division were above normal by 2.0°C. The night temperatures in all other divisions of the state remained normal.
Among the weather systems affecting the weather in the state a cyclonic circulation is present over Marathwada and its surrounding areas, extending up to a significant height.
The trough stretches from southern Chhattisgarh to Madhya Maharashtra, passing over Vidarbha, and lies above the cyclonic circulation over Marathwada at a moderate elevation. Additionally, a north-south trough extends from the cyclonic circulation over Marathwada to northern Tamil Nadu, with varying altitudes in between.
