Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Goa Chief Minister Promod Sawant took a holy dip in Sangam on Saturday.
Om Birla visited Mahakumbh Nagar on Saturday and took a holy dip in Triveni Sangam. He described the Maha Kumbh as a symbol of India’s spiritual faith and a celebration of the nation’s ancient culture and religious heritage.
On this occasion, Birla sought the blessings of Maa Ganga, Maa Yamuna and Maa Saraswati and prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the country. He said, “May grace of Maa Ganga always remain on everyone and every person’s life be filled with joy.”
He also highlighted the profound influence of saints, their teachings and the unwavering faith of crores of devotees who gather to experience the divine aura of Maha Kumbh.
Highlighting the significance of Maha Kumbh, Om Birla said it holds a special place in the Vedas and Puranas. He described the grand event as a symbol of unity and harmony, where people from all backgrounds come together, rising above caste and religion, to take a sacred dip in faith. “Maha Kumbh not only awakens inner energy and consciousness but also purifies the soul and mind,” he added.
Highlighting faith as the greatest strength in life, Birla remarked that this festival transcends politics and serves as an opportunity for social and spiritual harmony. He pointed out that crores of devotees from villages and cities across India have gathered for this sacred event, reflecting its immense scale and sanctity.
Reaffirming his faith in Maha Kumbh, he mentioned that the festival not only provides spiritual peace but also strengthens social bonds. He extended his best wishes to all devotees and described the overwhelming participation as a remarkable testament to India’s rich cultural heritage.
Goa Chief Minister Promod Sawant took a holy dip in Sangam along with his cabinet colleagues and state party president on Saturday. He lauded the grandeur of the event, praising Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visionary leadership and seamless execution in organising the Maha Kumbh.
Sawant said the participation of over 50 crore devotees in this gathering was a testament to its immense scale and divine significance.
Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Yogi and his government, Sawant praised their meticulous planning and execution of the Maha Kumbh. He congratulated Chief Minister Chief Minister Yogi on behalf of the people of Goa for orchestrating this grand spiritual gathering and thanked him for making the experience both divine and joyous.
Sawant, along with his party’s state president and cabinet members arrived at Prayagraj airport. From there, they proceeded to the Triveni Sangam, where they took the holy dip.
Sawant said that being part of this grand spiritual event and experiencing the sacred dip was truly special. He described the Maha Kumbh as a divine and magnificent event that brings joy to millions.
It may be mentioned here that trains are being run for the people of Goa to attend Maha Kumbh. Sawant said coming to Mahakumbh Nagar and being part of this spiritually uplifting moment was a wonderful experience for everyone.
Since its commencement on January 13, the Maha Kumbh has witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 50 crore devotees. Sawant remarked that this massive turnout was a testament to the festival’s grandeur and profound spiritual significance.
