Loyola School celebrated the 76th Republic Day of India with grandeur and deep patriotic spirit on its campus. The event brought together students, parents, staff, and alumni in a vibrant tribute to the nation.
The Guest of Honour, Ronald D'Costa, a respected alumnus and patron of the school, graced the occasion alongside Principal Fr. Vinod Fernandes, Vice Principals Jayanthi Sheshadri and Vineeta Ekka, and Hindi School Principal Fr. Jyoti Ranjan.
The program commenced with the ceremonial unfurling of the national flag by D'Costa, followed by the stirring rendition of the National Anthem. The day’s highlights included a captivating lineup of cultural performances.
Addressing the audience, D'Costa delivered an inspiring speech, commending the students for their creativity and talent. He called upon everyone to honor the sacrifices of freedom fighters and actively contribute to nation-building. He also reflected on the school’s Jesuit legacy, which has been shaping lives and society for over 500 years.
In his Vote of Thanks, Principal Fr. Vinod Fernandes expressed gratitude to the organizers and participants for their dedication. He emphasized the importance of Republic Day and encouraged students to uphold constitutional values while striving to be responsible citizens.
A special segment of the event was dedicated to honoring the school gardeners, whose hard work earned Loyola School first place in a prestigious garden competition.
