Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi raised serious questions on the police in the House in the case of the murder of BJP leader Anil Tiger in broad daylight on March 26 near Kanke police station in the capital. He even said that the police stations have been given the target of recovery. In such a situation, the governance system will never be correct. At the same time, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radhakrishna Kishore bluntly said that the law and order in the state has never been better than this.
In response, the Finance Minister said that people are saddened by such incidents. Our government does not look at such murders on party lines. No one will be spared. The government will take strict action, but the opposition's statement on one incident that the law and order in the state has deteriorated is not acceptable. There has never been better law and order in this state than this.
After the proceedings of the Question Hour was adjourned due to the uproar, as soon as the proceedings of the House resumed at 2:55 pm, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi raised the matter of Anil Tiger murder. He said that the incident took place at a distance of just 100 meters from Kanke police station, but even after the murder of Anil Tiger, the police is maligning his character. This murder is being linked to some incident in Kurdu. On enquiring from Lohardaga, it was found that nothing like this had happened. It is clear that Ranchi SSP is engaged in weakening the case in a planned manner.
Babulal said that the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated. CID and ACB are also under the responsibility of the state DGP. He is unofficially the head of Special Branch. Ranchi SSP has become DIG. Still he is working as SSP. It is being discussed that police stations have been given target of extortion. The target has been given not to catch criminals but to extort money. The governance system in the state will never improve in this way. The person who killed Anil Tiger was caught by the common people, but the police said that they have caught him to get a medal. Hence, there is a need to discuss the law and order situation in Jharkhand.
Ranchi MLA CP Singh has expressed displeasure over the house arrest of BJP leaders by the police in connection with the Ranchi bandh called in protest against Anil Tiger murder case. He said that if the police has to show its manliness, then it should show it on criminals, so that the public can get its benefit. Speaking to the media in the assembly premises after the proceedings of the House were adjourned till 12:55 pm, CP Singh said that no person is safe in this government. He said that the Mahagathbandhan government is giving protection to criminals.
