Delhi BJP on Saturday took a dig at AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal after his promise to provide free electricity and water to tenants stating people of national capital now understand that he remembers tenants only during elections and then forgets them.
Making this assertion state BJP president Virendra Sachdeva also responded to former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s recent statement, stating that “A wooden pot does not work repeatedly.”
Sachdeva said, “Since 2017, Kejriwal has been showing dreams of free and affordable electricity to tenants but has delivered nothing.” He further remarked that in 2013, during his first election
campaign, Kejriwal formed a tenant cell in his party, but he deceived them too, which is why they eventually joined the BJP.
Referring to Kejriwal, Sachdeva said, “The saying fits him perfectly – a thief may stop stealing but not deceiving.” He accused AAP leader of betraying all of Delhi and noted that “Delhi knows that whenever Kejriwal speaks, he lies. His words have lost their significance, just as he has lost his political ground in Delhi.” He also charged Kejriwal of colluding with power discoms to exploit the people of Delhi, particularly over electricity bills. Referring to Kejriwal’s claims of free water, Sachdeva remarked, “The people of Delhi have been left to suffer for every drop of water, with dirty water being supplied, pushing them towards diseases and even death. Kejriwal has no right to comment on water supply issues.”
Highlighting the struggles in slum clusters, the BJP leader said, “Women in these areas have to queue for six hours at water tankers and manage to collect just one or two pitchers of water.”
