Sleuths of Uttar Pradesh’s Anti-Terrorism Squad claimed to have arrested another employee of Kanpur Ordnance Factory who allegedly used social media to share confidential documents to the agents of Pakistani espionage agency Inter-Services Intelligence.
The arrest was made from Kanpur on Wednesday.
According to an official communique, last Thursday, Ravindra Kumar, employed at Ordnance Factory Hazratpur in Firozabad was arrested by Uttar Pradesh ATS for conspiring with alleged Pakistani agent Neha Sharma and sharing confidential and important sensitive information/documents of the Ordnance Factory.
During further investigation, the Uttar Pradesh ATS received intelligence that Kumar Vikas, employed at Ordnance Factory, Kanpur, was also connected with the said alleged Pakistani agent Neha Sharma and was providing confidential information and documents of Ordnance Factory to her on WhatsApp.
After thorough investigation of the said intelligence and interrogation of the accused by the Uttar Pradesh ATS, it was found that Kumar Vikas, a resident of Shahjahanpur village under Satti police station of Kanpur Dehat (presently living in C-131 New Highway City, Naramau police station, Bithoor, district Kanpur Nagar), posted as junior works manager in Kanpur Ordnance Factory, came in contact with alleged Pakistani agent Neha Sharma through Facebook in January 2025. Neha Sharma (pseudonym) claimed to be working in Bharat Heavy Electronics Limited (BHEL) and shared mobile numbers through conversation on WhatsApp Messenger. Kumar Vikas used the Ludo App to talk confidentially with Neha Sharma.
On the behest of the alleged agent, in greed for money, Kumar Vikas sent Ordnance Factory documents relating to equipment and ammunition being manufactured, attendance sheets of Kanpur unit employees, machines inside Ordnance Factory Kanpur and photographs and important confidential information of Ordnance Factory Kanpur production related charts etc. to Neha Sharma.
The ATS officials claimed that the act of Kumar Vikas, who shared information with alleged Pakistani agent Neha Sharma, comes under criminal conspiracy, which can be used adversely to affect the unity, integrity and sovereignty of India and can create instability in the country. In view of the above, a FIR No. 02/2025 Section-148 BNS and 3/4/5 Official Secrets Act has been registered in ATS police station in Lucknow and the accused was arrested from Kanpur on Wednesday.
