Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla on Wednesday announced plans to equip district hospitals across Madhya Pradesh with modern facilities, offering advanced MRI services at reduced costs and free treatment for Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries.
Shukla said that the government's goal is to provide high-quality healthcare services to citizens within their own districts. To achieve this, health infrastructure is being strengthened, and the necessary medical equipment is being arranged.
Describing advanced, accessible, and affordable healthcare services as a top priority for the state government, Shukla was inaugurating the MRI Investigation Service Centre at Jai Prakash Hospital in the state capital.
This hospital is the first district hospital in the state to offer MRI services. Shukla reiterated his government's commitment to strengthening and expanding healthcare services across the state.
He announced that MRI investigation services will soon be launched in Ujjain, Indore, Gwalior, and Jabalpur. The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that the new MRI services are available at 30 percent less than the CGHS rate.
These MRI services will be completely free for beneficiaries registered under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Shukla praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for improving health services in the country.
Shukla added that improvements in the health sector in the state are being carried out with future challenges in mind. He said the work on the Cath Lab and heart treatment facilities will be completed by March 2025.
Advanced services like angiography, angioplasty, heart transplants, and bypass surgery will be available at JP Hospital through Cath Lab and CTVS services. A 100-bed cardiac treatment unit will be set up.
He instructed officials to ensure no delay in the construction work and that the quality of all services should be maintained. Minister of State for Public Health Narendra Shivaji Patel also spoke about the improvements in health services.
Patel mentioned the opening of medical colleges and the recruitment of more than 46,000 medical assistant positions. These efforts aim to provide excellent health security to all citizens.
MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani, Mayor Malti Rai, Municipal Corporation Bhopal President Kishan Suryavanshi, Chief Medical and Health Officer Bhopal Prabhakar Tiwari, and Civil Surgeon Rakesh Srivastava were present at the event.
The Bhopal MRI Centre has been set up at a cost of Rs 10 crore 50 lakh. This includes building construction, equipment, and technical upgrades. A 1.5 Tesla UMR 580 machine has been installed, ensuring fast, accurate scanning.
The centre provides advanced imaging and energy efficiency. It has a scanning capacity of 80 patients per day, offering quality service with minimal waiting time and accurate reporting.
Advanced MRI facilities will be made available to patients at up to 30 percent less than CGHS rates. This facility will also be provided free of charge to Ayushman Bharat Yojana beneficiaries.
MRI Abdomen (Plain) (CGHS rate Rs 2,125) is available at Rs 1,423, MRI Brain (Plain) (CGHS rate Rs 1,998) at Rs 1,338, MRI Shoulder (Plain) (CGHS rate Rs 2,000) at Rs 1,339.
MRI Knee (Contrast) (CGHS rate Rs 4,500) will be done at Rs 3,014. MRI angiography (contrast) (CGHS rate Rs 4,950) is available at Rs 3,315 in the hospital.
For the diagnosis of serious diseases, whole-body MRI (oncological workup) (CGHS rate Rs 5,100) will be available at Rs 3,415. Services like MRI back (lumbar spine) (CGHS rate Rs 2,125) are also being provided.
