A major irregularity has surfaced in the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana (JMMMSY) during physical verification. Under Deputy Commissioner Bokaro Vijaya Jadhav’s directives, the Social Security Department found that a single IndusInd Bank account was used 94 times under different names across multiple blocks. The fraudulent applications were submitted through CSC operators from Palamu and Kishanganj (Bihar) using three CSC IDs.
Investigations revealed that the account (No. 100253493007) belongs to Sufni Khatun from Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal, and fake ration card numbers were used. Many applications were filed in bulk on October 31 and November 1, 2024, with fraudulent surnames like Murmu, Hansda, and Mandal.
Following these findings, Deputy Commissioner Jadhav has ordered an FIR against the account holder. Though some applications were approved at the BDO/CO level, funds were withheld due to further scrutiny. Additionally, 11,200 duplicate applications have been detected in the district, prompting a second round of verification by Anganwadi workers.
Earlier this week, a similar fraud was uncovered where 95 applications were filed using another IndusInd Bank account (No. 100253387047) registered to Yusuf from Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal.
