Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari held meetings with Congress workers in Amarkantak and Pushparajgarh on Tuesday, where he received a grand welcome from party members. During his visit, Patwari offered prayers at the Narmada Udgam Sthal and bowed before Maa Narmada after passing under the elephant statue, a local tradition believed to bring relief from troubles and fulfill wishes.
On this occasion, Patwari also paid tribute to Sant Ravidas on his birth anniversary. Addressing Congress workers, he emphasized the importance of unity and commitment to strengthening the party. He stated that the Congress ideology must reach every village in the state, and this year is being observed as the "Year of Organization and Struggle" to reinforce the party’s presence.
Patwari launched a scathing attack on the BJP government, accusing it of failing to fulfill promises made to farmers, women, youth, and the general public. He alleged that atrocities against Dalits and tribals are on the rise, women are feeling unsafe, and the youth’s future is being jeopardized while the state government is preoccupied with organizing events.
Referring to the upcoming Investor Summit, he questioned the BJP government on the actual benefits these summits have brought to the state. “How many new industries were established? How many youths got jobs? No industries were set up, and no jobs were created. Only the public’s hard-earned money has been wasted,” he remarked.
Patwari also reminded the public of former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s 2022 announcement of a ?100 crore Narmada Corridor in Amarkantak and questioned the progress of the project. He further demanded clarity on the Narmada Lok project in Anuppur, asking the current government how much work had been done.
