Minister Sudibya Kumar attended the two-day tourism roadshow organised by the tourism department of Jharkhand government in Kolkata. This roadshow not only became a platform for investors and representatives of the industry, but it also became a living proof of the historical, cultural and emotional relationship between Jharkhand and Bengal.
Kumar, in his dynamic and emotional address, shared the reason behind choosing Kolkata for the roadshow and said that Jharkhand and Bengal are not just neighbours but we are two pages of shared heritage. From the travels of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to the British Bengal Presidency, our traditions, tastes and sanskar are deeply connected. He said, “When a tourist comes from Bengal to the villages of Jharkhand, people call him ‘changer’, it is not just a word, it is the identity of our cultural closeness.”
The Minister further elaborated that most of the tourists visiting Jharkhand are from West Bengal, so we have started this new journey of tourism from Kolkata. He said, “It has been the tradition of our country that no matter how difficult the beginning is, we eventually emerge victorious.”
Kumar said that this road show of the Jharkhand government was not just a presentation, it was an invitation, “Come to Jharkhand, where waterfalls flow music, not just water… where mountains are not just high, they have stories… and where every journey is an experience.”
On this occasion, the Minister along with officials of the Jharkhand Tourism Department held high-level B2G meetings with several reputed groups — Ambuja Neotia, Polo Towers, Shriram Ozone, Peerless Hotels, Hotel Sonar Bangla, Conveyor & Ropeway Services, and Sumi Yashshree Hotels & Resorts — in which meaningful dialogue took place on many aspects of tourism investment, infrastructure development and partnership in Jharkhand.
Kumar said, "The government is alert, dedicated and eager to welcome you. Our state can become your next destination," he concluded by saying that the government led by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, has given priority to tourism development in Jharkhand and under the leadership of the Chief Minister, we are determined to give a new dimension to tourism in Jharkhand.
In the program, Tourism Secretary Manoj Kumar gave a detailed presentation where he informed everyone about the investment possibilities in the tourism sector in Jharkhand and the incentives given by the government.
