The Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC), Jamshedpur, successfully hosted the first-ever Jamshedpur 5K Promo Run 2025 under the theme “Innovation in Motion: Embracing Technology for Health and Fitness.” The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with over 500 enthusiastic participants, including students, healthcare professionals, fitness enthusiasts, and more than 100 cadets from Jamshedpur Armed Police (JAP).
The event was flagged off by Rishabh Garg, IPS, SP-Rural, East Singhbhum, who not only graced the occasion as the Chief Guest but also set an inspiring example by completing the entire five-kilometer race alongside participants, cheering them on throughout the run. The presence of senior faculty members and key officials, including the Director of Academic Administration and Quality, Associate Deans, Chief of Security, and the Organizing Secretary, further added to the significance of the event.
Participants of all age groups demonstrated incredible enthusiasm and determination, turning the run into a true celebration of fitness, camaraderie, and perseverance. To recognize their efforts, top performers were awarded medals and certificates, with winners declared in different categories. In the below 20 category, the men’s race was dominated by Srijan Mishra (20 min 57 sec), Rahul Mehta (21 min), and Rajesh Gorai (20 min 10 sec), while among women, Bhairavi Mardi (31 min 54 sec), Sanjana Kumari (35 min), and Sujata Savarnya (1 hr 49 sec) secured top positions. In the 20 to 40 category, the men’s winners were Dugud Singh Kunkal (22 min 17 sec), Sonuparey (23 min 01 sec), and Shivam Vodra (23 min 03 sec), while the women’s race saw victories by Tejas Kamti (34 min 42 sec), Kumari Pinky (38 min 42 sec), and D. Hemlata (41 min 35 sec). The above 40 category saw exceptional performances by Binay Kumar Singh, Jay Kant, and Dilip Kumar Thakur in the men’s race, while Dr. Jarina Begum, Dr. T. Nagamma, and Dr. Shruti Hegde emerged victorious in the women’s category.
The Jamshedpur 5K Promo Run 2025 concluded on a high note, with participants and organizers expressing their excitement about making this an annual tradition. Beyond promoting fitness and health, the event successfully reinforced community engagement and the integration of technology into wellness initiatives.
