Bhopal-based Remote Physios, a cutting-edge health-tech startup, has been awarded the prestigious NIDHI PRAYAS grant of ?7 lakh by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. The grant, part of the National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations, aims to support deep-tech startups working on disruptive solutions.
Co-founded by neuro-physiotherapist Anant Singh and physiotherapy expert Anubha Singhai, who also serves as Editor-in-Chief of PHYSIOTIMES Magazine, Remote Physios is integrating AI-driven therapy models and IoT-enabled electrotherapy devices to provide advanced remote rehabilitation. The startup is backed by business leader Pradeep Karambelkar, who serves as the Executive Director, offering strategic guidance to scale its operations.
The funding will accelerate the development of AI-powered personalized therapy plans, real-time patient monitoring, and remotely controlled electrotherapy devices such as TENS, IFT, ultrasound therapy, and muscle stimulators. The startup aims to expand its services to corporate employees, elderly patients, and individuals in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities who face challenges in accessing quality physiotherapy.
With ambitious plans to launch home-based physiotherapy kits, establish corporate partnerships, and introduce surface EMG-based monitoring systems, Remote Physios is set to scale rapidly.
The company targets deploying 1,000 physiotherapy kiosks and reaching over 10,000 patients in the next two years. Supported by IIT Mandi Catalyst and the NIDHI PRAYAS grant, Remote Physios is poised to redefine physiotherapy accessibility across India.
