Five more Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in the state capital have received certification from the National Health System Resource Center, taking the total number of certified health institutions in the district to 35.
The certification includes primary health centres such as Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Ratibad, scoring 89.51%, and Tumda with 83.46%. Sub-centres like Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Majidgarh (82.83%), Balampur (87.60%), and Pipliya Baj Khan (84.03%) also qualified. This evaluation took place in March.
These institutions join Bhopal's health facilities, including district hospitals, civil hospitals, community health centres, primary health centres, urban health services, and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, all certified under the National Quality Assurance Standard.
Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are healthcare centres established to provide comprehensive medical services, particularly for underserved communities. They aim to offer affordable and accessible healthcare, focusing on primary care, preventive services, and the management of both communicable and non-communicable diseases.
The certification process evaluates records, patient services, and feedback from service providers and beneficiaries. The assessment covers eight areas, including service provision, patient rights, support services, clinical care, infection control, quality management, and outcomes.
Seven service packages are evaluated for Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, covering areas like maternal and child health, adolescent health, family welfare, non-communicable and communicable diseases, newborn care, outreach activities, and national health programmes.
Chief Medical and Health Officer, Dr Prabhakar Tiwari, says that this certification reflects the ongoing efforts by the Madhya Pradesh government to improve healthcare services. In the past three months, 15 health institutions in Bhopal have received quality certificates.
