Attending the closing ceremony of the 18th All India Police Sports Shooting Competition, a symbol of the nation’s pride, also filled him with immense honor. As the chief guest, Governor Patel addressed the closing ceremony of the 18th All India Police Shooting Sports Competition 2024, which was held on March 24. The event took place at CSWT’s Revati Range.
In the competition, the BSF team won the Overall Championship (Women), while the CISF team secured the Overall Championship (Men). Governor Patel encouraged participants who missed out on winning medals to learn from their experiences and start afresh with renewed enthusiasm, emphasizing that determination leads to victory. He stated that sports competitions are not merely events but platforms where talent, skill, and dedication are showcased.
They also foster unity, harmony, and high ideals in life. The true reward of competition is the experience gained, which enhances one's skills and character.Highlighting the invaluable role of the police in maintaining and strengthening the world's largest and most vibrant democracy, he acknowledged the contributions of India's police forces, which are recognized and respected by the entire nation. The Governor stressed the need for a modern, responsive, and technologically advanced police force, advocating for a SMART police system—Sensitive, Modern, Alert, Responsive, and Tech-rich. He emphasized that the police should act as agents of social inclusion, ensuring that even the most marginalized individuals are integrated into the mainstream of development. He urged police personnel to uphold their duties of public service and human rights protection with the highest standards of integrity.
He expressed confidence that the competition experience would instill greater patriotism and commitment to public service among the participants, strengthening their resolve and inspiring them to enhance their skills and efficiency continuously.
He congratulated all male and female players from police organizations and state police teams for their outstanding performances. He also hoped that their experience in Indore, the cleanest city in India, was pleasant and well-facilitated.
