A gang of four veiled women stole silver bangles worth Rs 1.13 lakh from a jewellery shop in the Ashoka Garden area on Monday evening. The entire incident was captured by the shop's CCTV camera.
According to the police, Shashikant Soni, a resident of Samrat Colony, owns the Riddhi-Siddhi Jewellery shop located just below his house.
On Monday afternoon around 3 p.m., Shashikant left his elderly father at the shop while he went out to eat. When he returned at 4 p.m., he noticed repair material lying on the counter. Suspicious, he checked the jewellery and discovered that a box of silver bangles, which had been on the counter, was missing.
The theft was uncovered after scanning the CCTV footage. Four women wearing burqas were seen in the video. Three of them engaged Shashikant's elderly father in conversation, while the fourth woman stealthily took the box of bangles.After receiving information about the theft, the police arrived at the scene, registered a case against the unknown women, and began their search for the accused women.
