Glorious tradition of Sanskrit scriptures should be propagated: Guv

The fifth convocation ceremony of Maharishi Panini Sanskrit evam Vedic vishwavidyalaya, Ujjain (*accredited with "A" grade by NAAC*) was held on March 31, 2025, at the Kalidas Sanskrit Academy premises, under the chairmanship of the Governor of Madhya Pradesh and Chancellor of the University, shree Mangubhai Patel.

During his convocation address, the Governor congratulated the university on achieving the "A" grade and emphasized that the glorious tradition of Sanskrit scriptures should be propagated across the world. He highlighted that Sanskrit scriptures encompass compassion, sensitivity, and culture. Proper utilization of time and education makes a person successful and great. He extended his best wishes to the graduates and urged them to patiently stay connected to their culture and traditions while serving their parents. He also stressed that cultural preservation is possible only through the inculcation of good values.

The Chief Guest, Higher and Technical Education & AYUSH Minister Inder Singh Parmar, noted that Sanskrit students are carriers of India's knowledge traditions. He stated that the upcoming era will belong to Sanskrit, as India's land has been a center of knowledge since ancient times. The minister emphasized that India is moving towards reclaiming its position as a global leader. Sanskrit, yoga, Ayurveda, and science are the mothers of all knowledge present in India's scriptures, which require further research. He also praised Panini University for its commendable work in promoting and preserving Indian scriptures and knowledge traditions.

Special Guest Acharya Balkrishna, Vice-Chancellor of Patanjali University, Haridwar, remarked that obtaining degrees is the result of students' efforts and perseverance. Education shows us the path to liberation. Knowledge should aim for harmony and public welfare. Sanskrit students should work to promote India's knowledge tradition across the globe through their conduct.

Dr. Sandhya Purecha, Chairperson of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, stated that Sanskrit is the language of the Vedas, Upanishads, and science. It is entirely suitable for holistic development. She emphasized the necessity of studying Sanskrit for the preservation of art and knowledge.

Distinguished guests like Balayogi Saint Umeshnath Maharaj (Rajya Sabha MP and head of Valmiki Dham, Ujjain), Anil Firozia (Member of Parliament, Ujjain), Anil Jain Kaluheda (MLA, North Ujjain), and others were present.
