Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for two crucial road projects in Potka block, marking a significant step towards improving the region’s infrastructure. The road from Begnadih to Potka Chowk will undergo extensive repairs at a cost of ₹9.39 crore, ensuring smoother connectivity for residents.

The foundation stone ceremony began with a puja and coconut-breaking ritual, after which the MLA inaugurated the 5.400 km road construction project from Bhelaideh Chowk to Tirilgutu under the Chief Minister Gram Sadak Yojana. Following this, he laid the foundation stone for the IRQP (Improvement of Riding Quality Programme) work for the 15.950 km road from Begnadih to Potka Chowk, sanctioned by the Road Construction Department.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Sanjib Sardar emphasized that road connectivity is the backbone of regional development. He acknowledged the support of Chief Minister Hemant Soren in securing approvals for multiple road projects across the Potka assembly constituency.

"The state government has approved the construction of several roads in Potka, and work will commence soon. Additionally, roads that have completed five years since construction are also being approved for repairs as per government regulations," said Sanjib Sardar.

He further stated that the repair work on the roads from Hata to Musabani and Kudada to Potka has already been completed, and the Kowali-Begnadih road repair project, initiated today, will be completed in due course.
