Unknown criminals shot dead a former Zila Parishad member in Ranchi in broad daylight.

Former Zila Parishad member Anil Tiger was shot at Kanke Chowk. There is panic in the area after the incident. Police also reached the spot after getting information about the incident. Police has taken Anil Tiger's body into custody and sent it to RIMS for post-mortem. At present, the police is investigating the matter.

Reacting to the murder of Anil Tiger, DGP Anurag Gupta has called it sad. He has said that such incidents should not happen. "If it happens, it is the job of the police to catch the criminals and get them punished. This also controls criminal incidents. Recently, Bipin Mishra's case has been solved. Other incidents are also being solved," he said.

Anil Tiger, who was a resident of Ranchi's Kanke area and a former member of the Zila Parishad, was also very active politically. He had actively done politics for All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This firing incident near Kanke Chowk on 26 March 2025 has once again brought his political contribution and local influence into discussion. The motive behind this attack and the identity of the criminals have not been clear yet.

Meanwhile, the body of an unidentified person has been found from a well located near Brambe Pali Road in Mandar police station area of Ranchi. The body has not been identified. Mandar police is engaged in identifying the person. Police is investigating all the points of murder and suicide. Police has seized the body. Police has sent the body to RIMS for post-mortem.
