DGP called high level meeting after soldier's death

After the incident on Saturday, DGP Anurag Gupta held a high level meeting on Sunday. Apart from senior officers of Jharkhand Police, CRPF officers also attended the meeting held at the Police Headquarters.

Chaibasa police officers were connected through video conferencing. In this meeting, a strategy was prepared to intensify the campaign against Naxalites.

 After this meeting, a source said that a big campaign will be started against Naxalites in Saranda and Podahat forests of West Singhbhum (Chaibasa) district. Many big Naxalites are camped in Saranda with their squad. The campaign being run there will be intensified and will be run on a large scale. DGP Anurag Gupta will also go to Chaibasa tomorrow. Where the preparations for the campaign will be finalized.

 Many big Naxalites are present in Saranda: According to the information, top Naxalites of banned Naxalite organization CPI (Maoist) Misir Besra, Anmol, Mochu, Anal, Asim Mandal, Ajay Mahato and many other Naxalites are present in the forest of Saranda with their squad. Based on this information, Chaibasa police has launched a campaign against Naxalites. Apart from Jharkhand Police, officers and soldiers of CRPF, Jharkhand Jaguar and Cobra Battalion are involved in the campaign.

 Soldiers martyred in Saturday's incident: It is noteworthy that on Saturday, a soldier of Jharkhand Jaguar Sunil Dhan was martyred in the encounter and land mine explosion between Naxalites and police. Cobra Battalion (203) RO Vishnu Saini was seriously injured due to the blast. CRPF sub-inspector martyred on March 22: Two soldiers have been martyred in Naxalite IED blasts in Chaibasa within the last one month.

On 22 March 2025, CRPF Sub Inspector Sunil Mandal was martyred while fighting the Naxalites in Chaibasa. That day, Sub Inspector GD Sunil Kumar Mandal of CRPF 193 Battalion was out on a campaign against the Naxalites with his team.
