MLA Raj Sinha on Thursday raised issue of delay in expansion of Gaya rail under pass that awaits expansion since over a decade.
One of the most serious issue of the coal capital was raised under the notice of non-official resolution in Jharkhand assembly. Sinha said construction of underpass is need of hour to solve the problem of heavy traffic jam occurring on daily basis betwee Rangaton Shramik Chowk to Bank More Over Bridge.
Sinha said that the Gaya Bridge to Bank More road, which is known as the lifeline of Dhanbad, is the most important road of the city and due to the absence of Gaya Bridge underpass, the city residents have to face the problem of severe traffic jam every day from Pooja Talkies to Bank More. Sinha told the House that despite the tender being published 6 times for the construction of the proposed Gaya Bridge Underpass, the work has not started till date. This underpass is located in the middle of a densely populated area and on the railway line between Dhanbad - Gomoh -Gaya grand chord rail line of East Central Railway and divides the city into two parts. Thousands of vehicles ply on the roads through the narrow underpass built earlier and the approach road of the underpass is one of the major routes of the district and the state. Sinha further mentioned in the House that every day common people as well as serious patients have to face problems due to traffic jams on the road. This clearly reflects that the construction of this underpass is very important. The situation here becomes even more frightening during the rainy season due to frequent water logging . Sinha strongly demanded immediate construction of the approach path along with underpass that has been delayed owing departmental laxity.
Its worth mentioning that work remains delayed owing delay due to non cooperative attitude of railways.
