In accordance with directives issued by Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Jamuar, a district investigation team was established to audit the beneficiaries of the Abua Awas Yojana within Gram Panchayat Halivanta Kala, Nagar Untari Block. As part of this audit, a random physical inspection and verification of twelve houses belonging to families approved under the Abua Awas Yojana was undertaken.
The investigation uncovered that a total of nine Abua Awas beneficiaries were, in fact, ineligible. The investigation report indicated that Sabita Devi, the Mukhia of Gram Panchayat Halivanta Kala, Manish Kumar, the former Block Coordinator of Nagar Untari, and Nand Kumar Mehta, the Panchayat Secretary of Gram Panchayat Halivanta Kala, had wrongly declared ineligible beneficiaries as eligible and facilitated the release of funds without adequate examination. Consequently, the aforementioned officials, personnel, and the Mukhia were found culpable of wrongly declaring ineligible Abua Awas beneficiaries as eligible and releasing funds to them.
Deputy Commissioner Jamuar has stated that explanations have been requested from all relevant officials, personnel, and the Mukhia involved in the selection, verification, geo-tagging, and payment processes for these ineligible beneficiaries. He further added that appropriate action will be taken against those responsible, and steps will be taken to recover the misappropriated funds.
