CSS celebrates Its 57th Annual Ceremony with cultural grandeur

Chotanagpur Sanskritik Sangh (CSS) celebrated its 57th Annual Ceremony on March 12 at JK Celebration, Dibadih, Ranchi on Thursday. The event was inaugurated in a traditional manner by Navin Jaiswal, MLA of Hatia, alongside Padma Shri recipients Mukund Nayak, Madhu Mansuri Hansmukh and Mahabir Nayak with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the resonating sounds of drums, nagadas, and shehnai.

During the ceremony, Dr. Sachi Kumari, Secretary of CSS, formally appealed to Jaiswal to raise the demand for the establishment of a Language Academy in Jharkhand at the earliest. She also urged the government to introduce linguistic education in the primary education system and revive the Akhra tradition to strengthen the state’s socio-cultural fabric. Jaiswal assured full support and promised to present these demands in the assembly.

Following a tradition of honouring excellence in literature, folk art, and theatre, the event featured the presentation of the "Jharkhand Vibhuti Award." Distinguished personalities including Padma Shri recipients Mukund Nayak, Madhu Mansuri, Mahabir Nayak, and Rathin Bhadra honoured notable contributors in various fields:

Dr. Karamchand Ahir was felicitated in Panchpargania, Dr. Vinod Kumar (Khortha), Dr. Khalik Ahmed (Nagpuri), Dr. Anuj Kumar Sinha (Journalism), Hari Munda (Sarangi performance), Shivshankar Mahali (Folk Art), Late Kalishankar Mahali (Tohila), Manpooran Nayak (Mandar), Rakesh Raman (Poetry) and Dr. Anil Thakur (Theatre).

In the field of textile design, Ashish Satyavrat Sahu was honoured with the "Inspiration Award" presented by Nandlal Nayak.

The event also witnessed the release of the book "Panchpargania Bhasha Ka Vyakaranik Adhyayan" authored by Dr. Karamchand Ahir.

The ceremony paid tribute to Ishwari Prasad (Founder of CSS), Dr. BP Kesari (Former President of CSS), and Padma Shri Girdhari Ram Gonjhu (Former President of CSS).

The event concluded with a Holi Milan celebration and lively performances of Nagpuri songs by cultural groups and linguistic scholars from across Jharkhand.

The event was presided over by Dr. Ramprasad and conducted by Dr. Sachi Kumari. The vote of thanks was delivered by Amrendra Narayan Singh.

Key contributors to the success of the event included Dr. Randhir Kumar, Sneh Prateek Mehta, Sunil Kumar Jaiswal, Kumar Piyush, Germina Nancy Tirkey, Manju Tigga, Julie Kumari Mehta, and Sunil Mahto.
