Jharkhand Congress In-Charge K Raju paid tribute to the statue of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi at Rajiv Gandhi Senior Citizen Park. He interacted with senior employees while discussing the role of employees in nation building after the construction of HEC and discussed current status of HEC in detail.
Jharkhand Congress Chief Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, former Finance Minister cum MLA Lohardaga Dr. Rameshwar Oraon and State Congress General Secretary Alok Kumar Dubey also paid tribute to former Prime Minister, father of information revolution and Bharat Ratna late Rajiv Gandhi.
Raju then met former NSUI officials and discussed the strengthening of the organization. During this, he entrusted the responsibility of organizing the alumni convention of NSUI across the Country to Dubey. While meeting the volunteers of PASWA, he understood the problems related to private schools and assured to work towards their solution. He appreciated the Student Pratibha Samman Samaroh and Teacher Samman Samaroh organized by PASVA along with social service works like tree plantation, blood donation camp, service work during COVID-19, and promotion of education.
During the program, women who made outstanding contributions in the field of education were honored. He appreciated that despite many obstacles, a large number of people attended the event and made it a success.
Speaking to media persons, the State Congress In-Charge said that Rajiv Gandhi's contribution to Indian democracy and the creation of modern India is incomparable. He said that due to the efforts of Rajiv Gandhi, India made a mark at the global level in the field of digital technology and telecommunications and led India towards becoming a world leader. He said that Rajiv Gandhi implemented the 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendments to strengthen decentralized democracy in the Country, giving more power to local bodies. Along with this, reservation was ensured for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and women, thereby taking revolutionary steps towards empowering the deprived sections of the society.
Raju said that Rajiv Gandhi should be remembered by every Indian youth, because it was he who gave the youth the right to vote at the age of 18. Earlier, the voting age was 21 years, but due to the efforts of Rajiv Gandhi, the youth got the opportunity to participate in democracy. He said that we all should always remember the thoughts and contributions of Rajiv Gandhi, because he made unique efforts to shape the future of India.
Dr Rameshwar Oraon welcomed Jharkhand Congress in-charge K Raju and people of all other sections at Rajiv Gandhi Park and said that Rajiv Gandhi Park was built to fulfill a purpose. On the initiative of former MLA Hemant Pratap Dehati, he contacted me and put forward a plan to build a park for the elderly and senior citizens. I also liked it and after demarcation of the land, the park was built with the courtesy of the government where the elderly come in the morning and evening and spend time.
Dube said Raju's visit was important for the organisation and that this was his third visit to strengthen the party and establish direct communication with the workers. He said that Raju's communication and brainstorming will boost morale of workers and in the coming days.
