Adani Power is once again in the headlines. After the demand of the farmers was raised in the House during the budget session by Congress Legislature Party leader Pradeep Yadav, today he met Chief Minister Hemant Soren and discussed in detail the demand of the farmers sitting on hunger strike. He also urged the CM to take necessary steps.

After the meeting, Congress MLA Pradeep Yadav said that Adani Power Plant is discriminating against the people of Jharkhand. He said that people from Bihar, West Bengal and other states working here get lakhs of rupees. But the people of Jharkhand are kept on outsourcing and they are given only Rs 15 thousand.

Pradeep Yadav said that this discrimination will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He said that I put my point in front of the Chief Minister, he assured that a solution will be found soon. Talking to reporters outside the CM residence after meeting the Chief Minister, Pradeep Yadav said that many assurances were given by Adani Power. But not even one of them was fulfilled. Neither the hospital was built, nor the school opened nor the displaced people were given jobs.

He said that if our problems are not resolved soon, we will protest from the 14th. He said that what kind of justice is this that people from Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha and other states are getting more than one lakh rupees salary for the same work. At the same time, the local people here are being given a nominal amount for the same work. Attacking Godda MP Nishikant Dubey, he said that Dubey ji talks about the company which is not right. The problems of the farmers have to be understood and a solution has to be found.

Adani Power Jharkhand Limited (APJL), has achieved Commercial Operations Date of its second unit of its 2 X 800 MW Godda Ultra-supercritical thermal power plant ("Godda USCTPP") on 26th June, 2023, at Godda district.

Yadav raising the Adani power plant issue assumed importance as recently, Gautam Adani met Chief Minister Hemant Soren at his residence on March 28.

Jharkhand BJP state spokesperson Avinesh Kumar Singh said that ever since the meeting between Hemant Soren and Gautam Adani, the Congress people have been wandering around nervous. The BJP spokesperson said that ever since the party has flourished and they are taking the country on the path of development. Public welfare schemes are being implemented, the Congress party is not able to digest it.
