Saturday, 01 March 2025 | PNS | Bhopal

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inspected the ongoing construction of the Sant Ravidas Temple in Badtuma, Sagar. He paid floral tributes to the statue of Sant Ravidas in Sagar and appreciated the artisans engaged in the construction of the temple. Dr. Yadav reviewed the temple model and obtained details about the progress of various construction activities. He also watched a video exhibition based on the construction.

Yadav stated that under the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi, who is committed to refining and preserving Indian culture and fostering social harmony, the grand Sant Ravidas Temple is taking shape. He emphasized that this magnificent temple and museum will not only be a center of faith but will also introduce people from across the country and the world to India's great saint traditions and the teachings of Sant Shiromani Ravidas.

In the ancient and historically significant city of Sagar, efforts are being made to highlight Sant Ravidas's life values and legacy through the temple museum. The central theme of the museum is to introduce visitors to Sant Ravidas's deep devotion to God. The 66-feet-tall temple is being built in the Nagara style using red stone, without iron. The temple's sanctum sanctorum, antechamber, and entrance hall have been elevated five feet from the road level, and 72 intricately carved stone pillars have been installed, which will support the temple’s upper structure. Four galleries are being constructed around the temple, where Sant Ravidas's life will be showcased in a detailed and modern manner. A library will be set up to house spiritual and religious books related to Sant Ravidas.

The Temple complex, under construction in Badtuma, Sagar, covers an area of 11 acres with an estimated cost of Rs 101 crore.
