Chief Minister Hemant Soren reached his native village Nemra on Saturday. Here he celebrated Baha festival with his family. During this, he performed puja in a traditional way. Chief Minister Hemant Soren reached his village by helicopter and went straight to his house from the helipad. There he wore traditional clothes and walked about a kilometer to the Sarna site amid the beats of drums. There he worshiped according to the Santhal tradition.
Let us tell you that CM Hemant Soren is a Manjhi Hadam of the Santhal community, so he participates in Baha Puja every year. On this occasion, he also worshiped his Kul Devta. Baha festival is celebrated before the beginning of Chaitra month, in which the people of the village worship at Jaherthan. Mango and Mahua flowers have special significance in this puja. On this special occasion, the Chief Minister was accompanied by his mother Roopi Soren, wife and Gandey MLA Kalpana Soren, sister-in-law former MLA Sita Soren and other family members.
Everyone participated in the puja with traditional customs. Tight security arrangements were made in view of the Chief Minister's visit. Senior officials of the district including DC Chandan Kumar, SP Ajay Kumar, SDO were present at his ancestral residence. Security forces were deployed throughout Nemra village and on the routes through which he passed. Chief Minister Hemant Soren wished everyone on the occasion of Baha festival.
