Chief Minister today Hemant Soren said that Shri Banshidhar Mahotsav is celebrated here every year, but for the last few years, the state government has resolved to make this festival grander and increase the scale of the festival. Now Shri Banshidhar Mahotsav is being celebrated as a state festival. To make this festival its own place in the country and the world, our government had announced to organize this festival as a state festival. He said that today we all are present in the inauguration program of this festival.
The CM was addressing the State Shri Banshidhar Mahotsav-2025 organized at Nagaruntari in Garhwa district on Wednesday.
The CM said that the outline of what we will do for the upliftment and development of the people of the state in the coming years is being prepared. The state government will start its work by passing the budgetary provision of these works through the Legislative Assembly session, for this purpose the Legislative Assembly session has been convened. He said that this is not the first time I have come to your ground, I have come many times. I thank you people, I bow down with folded hands, that you people have never disappointed us. Today, as a blessing, you people have elected two MLAs each in favor of the state government to strengthen the government, to strengthen your Shri Banshidhar Nagar and Palamu division.
The CM said that taking a historic decision to make half of the state's population stand on their feet, we have done the work of giving honorarium to all the women of this state. The work of giving the most respect to women power in 28 states of the country is done in Jharkhand, that too by the state government. He said that we do not just say, we are people who show by doing. Whatever promise we made before the elections, we have worked to fulfill that promise as soon as the government was formed. He said that I also feel bad that despite working so diligently, some anti-social elements create obstacles in our work. They stop us from working and we are harassed by making false allegations. These people do not like good work.
Soren said that Palamu division has always been yearning for water. It comes in the shadow zone, the heat is more here. Farmers keep yearning for a drop of water, but water is not arranged, you people should not worry about this. In our previous tenure, we had taken a resolution to provide water to the villages, fields and farmers of this area, under which we had launched the Kanhar project. This scheme of about Rs 1200 crore is going to be completed in the coming 6 to 8 months, which will work to provide water to the fields of the farmers here.
The CM said that our government is not a government run from Ranchi Headquarters. Our government is a government run from every village of the state. This is the government of the people. We have always been trying to wipe the sorrow, trouble and tears of the people. He said that we had come among you all recently to seek your blessings, then I had said that we have worked for you all for 5 years, for this I had to go to jail also, therefore we should get our share of wages from you all and all of you have given us our share of wages in the form of forming a strong government in the state. We have always received your blessings, I am sure that all of you will give us the same affection and love in the coming times as well.
Soren said that earlier there was no electricity in this division. In the year 2013-14, when I became the Chief Minister for the first time, if anyone had done the work of connecting Palamu division with electricity, then it was done during my tenure as Chief Minister. He said that if we talk about infrastructure today, roads are being built everywhere, people are commuting through it. Connectivity is increasing rapidly. The change that was seen here in the last 5 years was not seen for 20 to 22 years after the state was separated.
The CM said that the state government is working with commitment in every sector. He said that we made the Banshidhar Festival a state festival. Similarly, in Palamu division, we have given the status of state festival to the Dubiya Khand Mela of tribal brothers. Now preparations are underway to make a future plan to develop all such religious places in this state as tourist places. He said that after the formation of the government, we have started writing, it is yet to be implemented on the ground. If the blessings and cooperation of all of you continue like this, then I promise to increase the speed given to development in the last 5 years by 100 times. The state government will work to solve all the long-standing demands here.
The CM said that we are running the first session after the formation of the government in the state, after this the government will come to your doorstep. It will work to solve your problems at your doorstep. Once again, on my behalf, I extend my heartfelt wishes and congratulations to all of you on the occasion of Shri Banshidhar Mahotsav.
