Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic boat accident in the Khaniyadhana region of Shivpuri district, where a boat carrying 15 devotees capsized near an island in the Matatila Dam, leading to the drowning of seven siblings. He described the incident as heartbreaking and extended his condolences to the grieving families.
Yadav announced that the nearest kin of the deceased would receive financial assistance of ?2 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s discretionary fund. He also directed a thorough investigation into the accident. In a statement to the media, the Chief Minister informed that eight individuals were successfully rescued with the help of the district administration, local residents, and NDRF personnel. He wished the survivors a speedy recovery.
Yadav prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed souls and strength to their bereaved families to endure this irreparable loss. He also urged the public to exercise caution while travelling or using water bodies for any purpose.
