As many as 100 Anganwadi workers and women supervisors of Ranchi and 50 Anganwadi workers of Khunti received smartphones from Chief Minister Hemant Soren during a State level programme organised by the Women, Child Development and Social Security Department in the Jharkhand Ministry on March 26.
Addressing the gathering, the CM said that today there is a smart phone in every hand and it is playing the role of an associate who stays with you 24 hours a day. “It is making the work being done by you easier and in such a situation it is not easy to move even a step forward without a smart phone. Keeping this in mind, the government is giving smartphones to Anganwadi workers, supervisors and health desk workers, so that you can perform your duties in a better way. With this, you will be able to easily prepare and keep daily details and reports related to the activities and work conducted in Anganwadi centers and real time monitoring of the work done by you will be possible.”
Soren cautioned the Anganwadi workers not to download any such app from the mobile which may harm them and that it should be used properly
The CM told the Anganwadi workers and supervisors that the smartphone being given should be used for government work through the app prescribed by the government. “Be careful while downloading the app on your mobile phone and not fall prey to populist and tempting messages. If you make even a slight mistake or negligence in this, you may have to face financial loss as well as many other problems, so use your smartphone in a safe manner”. said Soren.
Talking about the use of a mobile, Soren said that with this device information related to the various schemes run through Anganwadi centres will be available easily and accurately. With this in hand, it seems like the whole world has shrunk into one’s fist through this mobile. In today's time, it is okay if the purse is left at home but the mobile should not be left behind.
The Anganwadi workers and women supervisors have been preparing reports from their home mobiles till now while the department used to provide them with Rs 200 per month or Rs 2400 per year for internet expenses.
Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Avinash Kumar, Secretary of Women, Child Development and Social Security Department Manoj Kumar, Director, Social Security Kiran Kumar Pasi along with many officers and Anganwadi workers and supervisors were also present on the occasion.
In the devices provided, the SIM card will have to be activated by inserting the previously registered mobile SIM card. Ranchi Anganwadi worker Sandhya Rani said that this mobile will only be used for official work and not for personal work while Anganwadi worker Ranjita Devi of Torpa Khunti opined that after getting a smartphone from the government, there will be convenience in work
